Seattle has chosen to let nature determine when the police will respond to emergencies. The City has, in its infinite wisdom, opted to not throw salt down on the roads in the hilly city and will allow the "snow-packed" roads persist until warmer weather ensues......>>

Several U.S. manufacturers added their names to the growing list of companies making job or benefit cuts to weather the global financial crisis... Caterpillar Inc... is cutting white-collar pay by up to 50 percent and offering buyouts to as many as 25,000 U.S. employees as it looks to cut costs during what it characterized as "uncertain times."

The article is just free political advertising, echoing the dark insinuations made by the anonymous "Center for Union Facts" -- or is it the equally secret and misnamed "Americans for Job Security" -- anonymous organization(s) that refuse to reveal their corporate contributors.
